Story of Salty Sisters
“Take some salt back with you to Los Angeles.” My elder sister was incredibly excited about a special 10-year-aged sea salt, claiming, “I feel amazing! I swear, you have to try it!” Intrigued, I did.
Hey, salty family! Jummee here. This simple conversation during my visit to Korea changed everything. Our family is passionate about healthy living, especially after losing both parents to cancer. So, when I started using salt in everything—cooking, brushing my teeth, making energy drinks, and even enjoying morning salt tea for gut health and digestion—I couldn’t help but wonder why I hadn’t embraced it sooner. To my surprise, I came across research showing how pure salt and water can actually improve our health. This discovery motivated me to search for the cleanest salt available. However, I quickly learned that even sea salt can contain harmful ingredients.
I flew back to Korea in search of clean, mineral-rich sea salt. When I discovered handcrafted clay-baked sea salt, I tasted it and felt like it was magic. That’s when SheSalt was born. Upon returning, I shared my story with my dear friend and business partner, Angela, who is passionate about food as medicine. Her eyes lit up with excitement, and that’s when our journey began.

Food is Love. Love is You. Losing both parents to cancer and overcoming a mysterious illness, along with navigating suppressed memories, has cultivated a rich soil of passion, curiosity, and discipline in the garden of my heart. I was born in the scenic village of An Dong, South Korea, a place steeped in history and tradition for over a thousand years, where my ancestors thrived. This rich culture shaped me, ingraining itself into my bones and blood, and it became part of my core existence.
After moving to the United States, I embraced a mission to share the ancient wisdom of Korean food remedies with a new world, America. My relationship with food runs deep in my personal transformation since childhood. After achieving success as a VP at a Fortune 500 company, I faced the harsh realities of stress and disconnection from my true self. During a period of profound introspection, I rediscovered my love for cooking, embracing it as a therapeutic outlet that healed me and enriched my understanding of food as nourishment and act of self-love.
I believe that food choices and the intention behind food can empower both body and soul. This revelation fueled my drive to create SheSalt, a premium clay-baked sea salt that embodies quality, originality, and innovation within tradition. I see salt-making as an art that transcends sustenance, reflecting transparency and integrity in every product.
I am a wild dancer, an Earth lover, a science nerd, a crazy laugher, a food alchemist, and a true seeker colored by curiosity with the beginners' mind

Hello everyone! I'm Angela a board certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner who practices holistic and integrative women' health in Oregon with over 20 years experience as an NP. I am passionate about helping women reclaim their health and vitality and know that it begins with nutrition/hydration, followed by good sleep, our stress response, movement and of course hormone health! One of my personal and professional mantras is LESS SUGAR ~ MORE SALT. I remember when Dr. James DiNicolantonio's book The Salt Fix- Why the Experts Got It All Wrong- and How Eating More Might Save Your Life came out in 2017. I had to pick it up and put it down for over two years because it was so mind blowing.
Learning that so much of what you consider "truth" is based on flawed science was disheartening but in the end we always strive to stay curious, read the research, question everything and dialogue continuously about if our recommendations for health are indeed valid or not. This is the "practicing" part of medicine. I know now that salt is essential, that salt is a big part of my personal vitality and I even feel that salt is literally sacred.
Jummee Park and I have been friends for eight years now and I'm delighted to have launched Salty Sisters LLC with her in November 2024. She, like me, is devoted to eating a clean whole real food diet mixed with work that nourishes our soul and makes our hearts sing. We were on the phone one day back in November 2024 and we were both on the same salty wavelength. I was lamenting about how all the commercial electrolytes were junky and artificial. She was in joy about how more salt in her diet was improving her health and she was headed to Korea to explore salt farms.
Our conversations were pure alchemy and SheSalt was born along with the concept of Honest Electrolytes. When I'm not working you'll find me in the woods, enjoying my organic farm, dancing up a storm, reading science and studying herbalism, gynecology, functional medicine and spending time with my loved ones. I hope you'll enjoy She Salt, Honest Electrolytes and our Tooth Powder as much as I do. They are all a true labor of love.
